Ikoyi is a cosmopolitan and contemporary restaurant in constant evolution that builds its spice-based cuisine around British micro-seasonality. It was founded by friends chef Jeremy Chan and Restaurant Director Iré Hassan-Odukale in 2017. Since its opening, Ikoyi has distinguished itself for its bold use of flavour, introducing new and original ingredient combinations and presenting them with indefinable style. The foundation of their dishes is a vast collection of global spices with a focus on sub-Saharan West Africa, which have been meticulously sourced over the past few years, resulting in menus that surprise the senses with a balance of heat and umami. The restaurant is situated in the heart of St James’s Market, two-minute walk from London’s famous Piccadilly Circus. In February 2022, it was awarded a second Michelin star.

We are looking for a passionate individual who is seeking an exciting and challenging opportunity to fill the role of a head bartender or bar manager (depending on the candidate’s experience). An ideal candidate will have exceptional service standards with attention to detail and a keen interest in cocktails and wine. We require a candidate with experience in cocktail making and bar and drinks program management. Wine qualifications are not essential but beneficial as wine is a key part of our offering. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Being accountable for all the prep and ensuring we have enough to meet orders that will typically be received during the duration of a regular service
– Ensuring that all cocktails are made in line with the recipes, using all measurements as stated and maintaining the quality of all drinks served from the bar
– Maintaining stock levels, ensuring that we do not run out of preparations and ingredients
– Ordering of drink stock and bar ingredients
– Ensuring the highest level of customer service – maintaining an approachable and welcoming attitude with all guests and team members
– Overseeing other members of the team who may have to support you at the bar
– Taking a keen interest in food offering and knowing how to explain dishes to guests sitting at the bar by attending and participating in daily service briefings
– Monitoring drink GPs
– Keeping the bar tidy and in order at all times, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
