    The Lime Tree Hotel is an independent boutique hotel located in the prestigious Belgravia area of London, adjacent to the charming independent eateries and shops of Elizabeth Street. With 27 bedrooms our property is very popular with leisure travellers, who come to us for the great location, characterful building and our reputation for fantastic service. We were recently included in The Sunday Times ‘Top 100 British Hotels’ list.

    The role

    Having recently re-opened, we are now building a great kitchen team to deliver the exciting new menu in our restaurant, The Buttery. We’re looking for an experienced and energetic Junior Sous Chef to join us full time, working day shifts. A cheerful disposition, a calm approach and a can-do attitude are absolutely essential for this job!

    Main responsibilities & duties

    As Junior Sous Chef you will be working as part of a small team under the Head Chef to take the lead in preparing and running food service, as well as proving general support to keep kitchen operations running smoothly. The key duties of the role will be as follows:

    • Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and taking responsibility for running the kitchen in his absence
    • Preparing, cooking and plating breakfast and lunch dishes to the required standard set by the business and Head Chef
    • Ensuring the food preparation areas are kept clean and hygienic
    • Ensuring that food waste does not exceed expected levels
    • Managing the ordering and deliveries of produce and supplies
    • Maintaining all equipment within the catering operation through due care and diligence
    • Practicing high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen
    • Assisting the team in ensuring that all food safety paperwork is completed on a daily basis

    What we’re looking for

    For this role we need an individual with the following attributes:

    • At least one years’ experience in a similar role
    • Experience with fast-paced service
    • Good understanding of dietaries and allergens
    • Able to speak English to a very good level, with strong communication skills with front and back of house
    • Able to work under pressure and maintain standards during busy times
