The Dame Alice Owen is open Monday to Friday, and our General Manager contract is 40 hours a week – because we believe great pubs should run on energy and care, not burnout. If you’re passionate about food, people, and pubs, but also value your evenings and weekends, this might be the perfect fit.

About Us
We’re Stanley Pubs – a small, independent group built on a genuine love for pubs done properly. We’re growing, and we’re on the lookout for a General Manager to lead the team at the Dame Alice Owen.

The Dame is all about relaxed charm, excellent pizza, and regulars who feel like old friends. It’s a pub where you can pop in for a quick pint and end up staying for dinner – warm, unfussy, and built around quality food and conversation.

What We’re About
There’s no music, no screens – just friendly service, great drinks, and a space where people can slow down and connect. We’re proud of the atmosphere we’ve created, and we’re looking for someone who’ll keep that spirit alive while bringing fresh energy to the team.

Our Food & Drink
Our kitchen serves a Mediterranean-inspired pizza menu that changes with the seasons – fresh, simple, and full of flavour. Behind the bar, we serve well-kept ales, rotating craft beers, and a wine list full of lesser-known gems from small producers.

The Role
We’re looking for someone with heart – someone who loves looking after people, leading a team, and making a pub feel like home. You’ll have room to shape things your way, with the support of a small, close-knit company that cares about doing things well.
