Rick and Jill Stein opened The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow back in 1975, and from humble beginnings the business now employs over 500 passionate people and includes 10 restaurants, 40 hotel rooms, self-catering accommodation, four foodie shops, a cookery school and a thriving online shop. The business has grown beyond Cornwall with restaurants in Winchester, Sandbanks, Marlborough and London. Rick and Jill are both still at the helm, with their three sons all involved in the business too, and the Stein family passion for fresh fish, simply cooked is stronger than ever.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to lead and develop our team at The Seafood Restaurant. You will work closely with the head chef to ensure that our customers receive exceptional service.

As General Manager you will share our passion for the industry and have previous experience in a similar role. You’ll drive your department forward through developing your people, implementing activity and controlling resources. You’ll be an effective leader who is approachable and honest and you’ll improve the business using your commercial knowledge.

What you’ll be getting up to:

– Ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly whilst maintaining a relaxed and informal style
– Ensuring our guests have the best possible welcome and dining experience
– Effectively planning and delegating whilst ensuring our high standards are maintained
– Motivating your team by providing excellent support and training
– Improving business performance

Key skills:

– Outstanding hosting and service skills
– Leadership and development of a large team
– Ability to look after costs, identify improvements and drive revenue

The Ideal Candidate:

– Proven restaurant and general management experience
– Passionate about outstanding service and quality produce
– Outstanding leadership skills with experience of leading and developing a large team
– Motivated to continually improve our business
