Head Chef, Newhall Mains
Newhall Mains is a luxury accommodation and events venue looking to launch its very first food and dining service. Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the premises consist of a series of luxury cottages and suites with its own private airfield. Starting this summer, we will be offering first class dining to guests, wedding parties and a range of private events.
A part-time to full-time contract for an entrepreneurial chef who can take charge and build out our F&B offering. We are looking for a hands-on individual with the imaginative capacity to create a vibrant seasonal menu alongside catering to a range of private events involving both indoor and outdoor cooking (we have a fantastic Argentinian Asado on our grounds as well as a fully equipped kitchen!)
We are a family-run business, which takes pride in using locally-sourced produce, and we are looking for someone who can build on this ethos. We are fortunate enough to have access to a wonderful selection of local ingredients including lobster, scallops, venison and locally-reared beef, so a passion for fresh food and an ability to forge relationships with local suppliers is key.
The Ideal Candidate:
A good working knowledge and interest in the provenance of food is essential.
This is a brand new role so confidence, self-motivation and the ability to think on your feet are imperative.
A self-starter who is comfortable defining the longer-term creative vision of the business.
Someone looking to escape the city and have a change of lifestyle.
A passion for the outdoors and the environment – previous experience within a sustainability-led business would be ideal.
Most important of all, someone who is driven and happy to hit the ground running.
