About Us
Lupa is a small neighbourhood restaurant in Highbury dedicated to Roman comfort food. Brought to life by head chef Naz Hassan, the menu features crowd-pleasing, ingredients-led regional favourites that are made for sharing, from pizza bianca baked fresh each day, to hand rolled pastas and homemade desserts from pastry chef Alessandro Boscolo.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an ambitious Restaurant Manager with a real passion for food, drinks and most important of all, people.
Experience managing a busy restaurant environment is a must, as is a good knowledge of wine and food, but we’re also open to candidates looking to make the step up to running their first site. We would like to meet people who can help us take Lupa from buzzy new
opening to enduring neighbourhood classic, adapting our processes and developing our small, yet enthusiastic and friendly, front of house team.
We are looking for a talented individual who will fit with our culture while helping us to
elevate what we do to the next level. Specialising in Roman comfort food, our ambition is for Lupa to be the place to go for your Italian fix; casual midweek dinners, date nights and special occasions. Service will be welcoming with a genuine care for the guest, with everyone passing through the doors feeling like a ‘regular’.
Responsibilities
- Leading services in the dining room, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere,
while using your knowledge of food and wine to offer our guests the best
possible experience. - Setting the standard for daily team briefings with full attention to guest notes,
specials and VIPs / regular - Training new starters on steps of service and Lupa’s values
- Being the point of contact for the FOH team on service standards, wine and
food knowledge - Managing the daily takings and cash up sheet.
- Owning the rota for the FOH team
- Managing cash and credit card tips, liaising with HR Manager to give monthly
totals for payroll - Maintaining standards of uniform, timekeeping, tidiness, and attitude amongst
the FOH team - Working with the Director in communicating weekly financial performance,
guest metrics and general areas for improvement. - Placing beverage orders and ensuring prep is done for the short pre-batched
apéritif cocktail list.
Perks
- Discount on F&B at Lupa for yourself and your guests
- Discounts at Carousel (our sister restaurant) in the Wine Bar for you and your
friends & family - Consecutive days off
- Half day off on your birthday
- Cost price wines
- Unlimited hot drinks
- Daily staff meals
- Development & training (including WSET)
- Regular staff socials and team trips
- 48 hour working week
