Head of Groups and Events 

Our Groups and Events team look after our two unique London hotels – Sea Containers London and One Hundred Shoreditch. Sea Containers, a lifestyle Hotel based on London’s eccentric South Bank, is a 359 bedroom hotel with award-winning food and drink outlets such as Mr Lyans flagship cocktail bar, Lyaness, and an electric energy. Our newest hotel, One Hundred Shoreditch, is an independent spirit at the social heart of Shoreditch, home to 6 restaurants & bars including Goddard and Gibbs & Seed Library.

Now that we have launched our second hotel in the region, we are adding a Head of Groups and Events to our Sales and Marketing team to meet the growing demands of our two hotels. As Head of Groups and Events, you will lead the Groups and Events teams for our London region, overseeing the Groups and Events sales strategy to ensure maximum productivity and increased revenue. You will be an exceptional team player, giving guidance to the Groups and Events Executives while handling all our group and event enquiries, as well as planning all the logistics for groups and events bookings once they have confirmed.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Oversee the progress of all established Events Sales Strategies, Policies, Guidelines and standards to ensure maximum productivity and increased revenue
• Provide the yearly Events Marketing / Business Plan and execute it in an effective manner
• Maintain a competitive edge over the competition by consistently being creative in developing new menus, theme party ideas and new ways to attract new and repeat business
• Conduct daily walk-throughs of function rooms to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards
• Participate in any Corporate Improvement Teams, as requested by Director of Food & Beverage and Regional Director of Sales & Marketing
• Develop Events Executives through on-going training and coaching in accordance with individual and departmental goals
• Coordinate appropriate food and beverage training, sales training, events training, technology training to ensure 100% knowledge of product and upselling skills
• Work with the group sales managers to ensure all group business converted has events business sold with it
• Work with the Marketing department on all creative marketing needs to drive events business
• Work closely with Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director to establish all banquet food and beverage content and pricing. Develop and implement themed and seasonal menus
