Location: Central London
Type: Full Time

Opportunity to join Knife and Fork Media (CODE Hospitality, The Good Food Guide) in London as head of growth, working across our four core digital subscriptions.

ABOUT US

Knife and Fork Media is a London-based hospitality media business that owns CODE Hospitality and The Good Food Guide.

CODE Hospitality (CODE) is a digital membership platform for hospitality people in the UK. CODE members get up to 50% off in over 400 of the best restaurants, bars & hotels, along with additional perks, editorial and events. We have a network of more than 50,000 people working in and with hospitality. We endeavour to champion the industry in everything we do.

The Good Food Guide (GFG) is a consumer-facing publication, founded in 1951. Every year the Guide reviews the best restaurants, pubs and cafés across Great Britain combining a network of reader feedback with anonymous expert inspections. We will be bringing back Guide as part of a new digital subscription, The Good Food Club, in spring 2022.

THE ROLE

The head of growth will sit at the intersection between marketing, product development and account management. It focuses on awareness, acquisition, engagement, and retention across our four core subscription businesses encompassing individuals, businesses and suppliers working in hospitality (CODE) and consumers (GFG).

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider team of marketing and account managers (including line management responsibilities), as well as third party development teams, and report directly into the COO.

We have bold ambitions to grow our membership across all existing subscriptions at CODE and launch a consumer facing subscription for The Good Food Guide (The Good Food Club). The head of growth will play a core role in achieving our business growth objectives.

Knife & Fork Media is committed to creating an equal and inclusive working environment. The role will be shaped around the successful candidate, and there is plenty of opportunity to learn on the job. We have outlined some desired responsibilities, skills, and experience. If you feel that you tick some (or all) of the boxes, we’d love to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shaping the future of our subscriptions – defining the vision and implementing a clear strategy to meet business goals and user needs, with objectives and measurable key results.
  • Developing subscriber lifecycle programmes – analysing and optimising how members convert through the funnel (awareness > acquisition > engagement > retention).
  • Prioritising solutions and opportunities – taking a data-driven approach to prioritise work streams and make decisions.
  • Marketing – working with marketing team to drive conversion through owned media, paid and earned media.
  • Product management – working with third party development teams to improve our digital products.
  • Key account management – managing relationships with volume customers to scale subscriber acquisition.
  • Project management – ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritised, and delivered on time, working closely with internal and external teams.
  • User research – engaging directly with members and partners to build an understanding of what makes a great experience for members and partners, and how we can improve it.
  • Analytics & reporting – ensuring key stakeholders are kept up to date, defining KPIs and compiling regular reports.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Subscriptions – You have experience working in a subscription business across the member funnel in a marketing, product, or wider growth capacity.
  • Communication – You have experience of working with senior stakeholders, communicating progress, and understanding business challenges.
  • Leadership – You have experience leading and managing teams to maximise their potential.
  • Problem ownership – You can understand, identify, and prioritise problems, analysing and helping to identify the appropriate solution.
  • Strategic ownership – You can focus on outcomes, not solutions. You know how to get the organisation and team to buy in. You can translate the vision into prioritised deliverable goals.
  • User focus – You understand users and can identify who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence.
