We are looking for an Restaurant manager to join our young, ambitious and dynamic FOH team working alongside our General Manager.
Our restaurant manager at Portland should be ambassadorial, passionate and creative in the way they approach their day at work.
They will be flexible, often being called on to move between running the floor; a section; the bar and provide the calm, organised approach that customers and staff will expect and demand. They will exude a calmness & professionalism that is above all those around them.
Our aim is to be the most personable, attentive & creative 1* in London.
Will have a permanent interest in the food and wine of restaurants similar to ours, with an eye to educate themselves and others at every opportunity available.
They will be expected to taste all dishes on the menus, know each wine on the main list & spread this knowledge throughout more temporary/junior members of the team.
This thirst for knowledge will be met by Portland, with regular in-house tastings as well as external qualified tuition, such as WSET and Food Alert.
