Are you interested in joining an innovative, fast growing food tech company which has ambitions to take over the London and UK micro greens and baby leaf market? Established in 2016, Vertical Future is a food tech company focused on improving population health by building a smarter, more sustainable food production and supply system. We develop technologies and build smart, high-tech production sites, primarily in urban centres, and grow a broad range of high-quality produce (primarily baby leaf salads, microherbs, and specialist herbs), traded under the brand name MiniCrops. The MiniCrops business currently supplies over 100 restaurants in London, many of them Michelin starred, and with our recent fundraise which will enable us to significantly increase our growing capacity throughout the city, we are looking to increase our reach into in the London restaurant market.

Job Description:

We are currently looking to hire enthusiastic and driven sales representatives for the MiniCrops brand for several territories in London. We are ideally looking for people with experience selling into food service establishments or motivated chefs with a flair for selling and previous experience using micros in their cuisine.

Specifications of the Role:

• Acquiring new leads for product sales
• Building and maintaining a database through cold calling and maintain accuracy of the database
• Developing and owning the relationship with purchasing decision makers and influencers in restaurants and other food service businesses within the target territory
• Organising and attending sales meetings with new clients
• Increasing order volume with existing customers
• Preparation of proposals to chefs and purchasing managers of food service establishments.
• Ensuring customer relationship/satisfaction with prospects and customers
• Conducting market research as part of lead generation process and sharing market intelligence within the team
• Provide pipeline and revenue reporting using CRM systems
• Attend trade shows/marketing events
• Workday will generally comprise customer engagement/visits between 9 – 11 and 3 – 5 with data management/admin/reporting/intelligence gathering between 11 – 3

Required Qualifications:

• A team player, but with a self-sufficient mind set
• Experience selling in the food service industry or hospitality sector
• A passion for and understanding of food and the hospitality industry
• An interest in the mission of sustainability and/or vertical farming
• Not just comfortable with, but motivated by, targets and keeping score

Mandatory:

• Legally entitled to work in the UK
• Basic excel skills
• Basic powerpoint and word skills
• Basic knowledge of finance
• Drivers licence not essential, but helpful
