About Us:

Bubala, meaning darling or sweetheart in Yiddish, was born of the desire to put the vegetable centre stage, borrowing inspiration from across the Middle East, with a focus on Israel, Lebanon and Turkey. We serve up our own unique take on mezze, with bright punchy flavours designed for sharing.

We did pop ups all over London for over a year, before settling in Spitalfields where we have a lovely 36 cover restaurant with an intimate private dining room upstairs, seating 25 people with their own private bar.  During lockdown we have greatly expanded our business too into retail, and now supply some of our favourite delis across London, including Supermarket of Dreams, Bournes, and Farmdrop. We are also working with Dishpatch producing meal kits.

We have a small team with a strong company culture of nurture and respect. We seek out small suppliers with quality products and a strong ethos we can get behind. The kitchen is headed up by Helen Graham (ex Palomar, The Barbary & Ottolenghi)

Job Description:

-Supporting the Head Chef in running and managing a small team

– All necessary EHO due diligence

– Coming up with new dishes for the menu

– Maintaining excellent food hygiene & quality standards

– Exciting career progression available as we look to expand

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Management experience essential
  • An understanding/appreciation of Middle Eastern food – professional experience cooking it, even better!
  • Organised with excellent communication skills
