Phil Howard and Rebecca Mascarenhas opened Kitchen W8, in Kensington, almost 10 years ago. Mark Kempson, our fabulous Head Chef, has been at the helm since the beginning and gained ( and retained) a Michelin Star for the restaurant since 2011. It is a restaurant that combines accomplished cooking with old-fashioned hospitality. When we launched Kitchen W8 in 2009 we intended it to be a home from home, something which we strive to achieve year after year. Our benchmark for success is to send our customers back out into the world feeling better than when they arrived.
Assistant Restaurant Manager:
We are looking for someone who, first and foremost, understands that genuine hospitality is ingrained in everything we do. You don’t have to have had a background in Michelin restaurants, just an overall enthusiasm for great cooking, well-sourced ingredients, great wine and an interest in a sustainable business practice. We provide good training both in-house and the opportunity to do stages in our other restaurants. You must, obviously, have good experience in other quality restaurants. It would be a great step up for a senior waiter. As part of your remit, you will in sole charge of the floor for a good part of your week. This requires a lot of responsibility and a calm manner.
When you join our team, you benefit from competitive remuneration and generous discounts at all of our sister restaurants – Elystan Street, Sonny’s Kitchen and Home SW15 plus other fantastic London restaurants owned by our friends. It is an ideal opportunity to engage in all aspects of the business, not just front of house.
