The Clink Restaurant has developed an engaging and integrated training program which gives prisoners a chance to gain professional qualifications whilst in prison and supports them on their release in finding employment in the catering & hospitality industry. Prisoners have the chance to gain City & Guilds NVQ qualifications in food preparation, food service and food safety, as well as gain experience whilst working in a fine dining restaurant which is open to the public. 

 

A unique opportunity to transform lives and to inspire others has arisen within our award-winning Clink Restaurant in Brixton, London.  W We are seeking a highly experienced and engaging General Manager Trainer to lead and inspire our restaurant team and future prison learners.

 

Since opening, we have won several prestigious awards, including receiving the Observer Food Monthly’s ‘Best Ethical Restaurant’ in 2018, and we are consistently in the top 15 Restaurants on Trip Advisor in London, out of over 20,000 others.  To enable us to maintain and build on this amazing success, it is essential that you have a fine dining background and understand the grace and spirit required of high-end hospitality.

 

We produce an inspirational dining experience for all our guests, which delivers genuine change and proven results in the reduction of reoffending and the rehabilitation of offenders.

Job Description:

 

Your role as General Manager Trainer is to work with your team of Chef & Restaurant Manager Trainers to lead and manage the day to day and strategic operations of the restaurant.   You will be responsible for directing the overall training programme in the restaurant, leading hospitality, staff management, financial performance and physical restaurant maintenance as well as directly responsible for all aspects of the service and food. 

 

You will have the resilience, integrity and professionalism to handle an ever-changing day, irrespective of the challenging situations you may face. Your natural patience, understanding and commitment to helping Prison Learners, who could be at the lowest point in their lives, will stand you in good stead and give you the gravitas required for this position.
