Head Chef, Bar Douro

Bar Douro is expanding, opening a second site in The City this Summer. As we grow we are looking for a Head Chef to take over the original London Bridge site.


Occupying a railway arch in London's buzzing Flat Iron Square, Bar Douro was created as a way to bring authentic Portuguese food to London. The atmospheric 30-cover marble counter-top dining space offers an intimate window to the best of Portuguese culinary heritage. The menu is designed using fresh seasonal produce and focuses on highlighting the best flavors and techniques that Portugal brings to the gastronomic world. Bar Douro boasts the largest Portuguese wine list in London importing regional wines from boutique producers. Bar Douro’ s service style is both attentive and informal and the open kitchen adds theatre and intimacy. 

If you are a Head Chef or Sous Chef with the following skill set, then we want to hear from you:


Previous London experience as Head Chef/ Sous Chef preferably working with Portuguese or Mediterranean flavours.


A creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail.


Strength in stock control, logistics, food costing and margin control.


Proven experience of managing staff costs and rota management.


A working knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety compliance and procedures.


Ability to lead your team with a positive, team-player attitude and lots of personality and humour




Good work/life balance. Two days off per week and a 54 hour contract.
