About Us


Built from an old barn on the grounds of Wiveton Hall in 2006 by owner Desmond MacCarthy, Wiveton Hall Café has become famous on the Norfolk coast and appeared in the BBC 2 documentary series Normal for Norfolk.   With the help and creativity of local chef Ali Yetman Desmond created a vibrant café style restaurant serving delicious freshly prepared food full of flavour.   The café has grown ever more popular over the years and can serve over 200 people for lunch during a busy service.  Tapas served on Friday & Saturday nights from May until October. Open from March until December.



Job Description


We use local ingredients, with vegetables and herbs from our Kitchen Garden, and strive towards interesting but simple dishes that are delicious.  Working alongside Ali Yetman, who designs our ever-changing menu, we are looking for a Sous Chef who can run the stove and manage the kitchen on a daily basis.  You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency and delivery of all menus. Usual shift pattern is a 5 day week with 2 days off in a row plus 1 – 2 evenings a week from May until October.  Accommodation available.

You will be passionate about working in a quality renowned food environment and be an excellent communicator who helps motivate and develop the team.  You should be able to organise and prioritise to ensure quality and service delivery whilst working closely with the front of house team to ensure a harmonious working environment.
