What inspired you to be a chef?
I was inspired by my father, he was very creative and the best teacher.
What limitations have you faced as a female chef?
Bias against women which proved to be a blessing in disguise. On my first day in a new job the head chef told me “I don’t like working with girls in my kitchen” I wanted to prove him wrong, I worked there for 2 years with plenty more women employed after me.
If you could make a positive change in the industry what would it be?
As female chefs, we want to be recognised in the industry but first we need to recognise each other and be role models to young female chefs.
