Bar Crispin is the knockout second site from duo Dominic Hamdy and Oliver Hiam who opened the original Crispin in Spitalfields in 2018. This small but handsome space on Soho’s Kingly Street has its own distinct vibe, though the triangular mirrors and zigzag candlesticks offer a subtle nod to the modernist architecture of the mothership.
The talking point here is the wine list which comprises an impressive 150 organic and biodynamic wines by the bottle, starting at £28 and getting ever more interesting there on up. Sparks fly through chef Brendan Lee’s menu of accompanying small plates. It’s produce-led and changes regularly but if you see the anchovy and potato focaccia on there, you know what to do.
