Friends Iré Hassan-Odukale and Jeremy Chan joined forces to open Ikoyi back in 2017. The spot in the redeveloped St James’s Market might seem corporate from the outside but as soon as you’re seated in the small, elegantly lit dining room, you know you’re in a very good place.

Ikoyi’s popularity is much deserved and though it is often described as a west African restaurant, Jeremy Chan’s cooking is not so straightforward to pin down. The refined use of spicing and appearances of jollof rice and plantain meld seamlessly with hyper-seasonal use of some of the most flavourful produce found in the UK, including from regenerative farms like Melilot in Cornwall and Flourish Produce in Cambridgeshire. You only need one bite of the rare breed Manx Loaghtan chops to understand the lengths to which Iré and Jeremy go to deliver the highest quality.
