One of the most intriguing elements of Publiq is that it exists in South Kensington, along the leafy south perimeter of Hyde Park, an elegant stroll from the Royal Albert Hall. Otherwise, it bears all the hallmarks of an establishment more commonly found in east London: seasonal sharing plates, natural wines, local beers and sustainably sourced produce.
Rather than wielding these words as marketing speak, the team behind this modern public house are quite serious about it. And serious about the role hospitality can play in bringing a community together. In the kitchen there’s a nose-to-tail philosophy from head chef Emilian Craciun and at the reigns are bartending experts Charles Montanaro and Greg Almeida, the latter bringing experience at Scarfe’s Bar, Tayēr + Elementary and Pollen Street Social. Enjoy their take on classic cocktails and let yourself be swayed by the twists and turns of the menu.
