Urban Leisure Group heads to Kentish Town for latest opening

Published 11 February 2020

North Londoners pining for relaxed food like pizzas since Pizza East, Dirty Burger and Chicken Shop left Highgate Road will be pleased to hear that Urban Leisure, the bar and restaurant group behind ventures including Heist Bank and The Elgin is moving in. Their latest concept, ‘Never For Ever’, will open in Kentish Town in March.

Split across two floors, Never for Ever aims to create a space for the community to come together, featuring a ‘common room’ space with live music, home-brewed beers and cocktails on tap.

Offering simple dishes from two wood-fired ovens, the food will centre on homemade pizzas alongside large plates, bar snacks and locally-sourced charcuterie. The interiors have been designed by in-house by the Urban Leisure team, and guests can expect bold colours and contemporary art.

The lease was secured on behalf of London Buildings by Shelley Sandzer, the leisure property agency which has helped restaurants such as Honey & Smoke and Sweet Chick enter the market.

Commenting on the opening, Urban Leisure Group founder and director Hezi Yechiel says “When the site for Never For Ever came up, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to bring a fun and fresh new local to the Kentish Town area. The space, bringing together three former venues, provides the ideal arena to encapsulate our community-led concept. With support from Shelley Sandzer we were able to agree this letting in record time; we can’t wait to see our idea become reality.”
