Patio Pizza, Alim Nayil’s cult Kingston pizzeria, is pitching up in Peckham for the summer, where it will take up residence at The Greyhound, the pub from the team behind All My Friends, The Marquee Moon and The Cause. It’s Patio’s first time outside Kingston since its 2020 launch, and a chance to get its slow-fermented New York-meets-Naples pizzas in front of a new audience. If Patio’s pizzas are good, its origin story is even better: Nayil grew up in his dad’s pizza shop—located next door to Patio—and started developing his own pizzas in a portable pizza oven on the patio of shared student accommodation at university in Brighton. Patio’s Peckham pop-up lists six core pizzas from the Kingston site, plus sides, dips, and monthly specials like the Lupita with pistachio pesto, courgette, ricotta, coppa, and mint oil.
