plate by Leon Smith arrives in Bath

Published 23 September 2020

Last week we announced that Mike Robinson is launching The Elder restaurant and bar in Bath – now, there’s more good news for locals as plate by Leon Smith is set to open on 7 October.

Located in The Bird hotel, the neighbourhood restaurant aims to bring ‘the best of Bath and beyond’ to diners, serving a produce-led menu showcasing the West Country. Leon Smith returns to Bath to head up the kitchen, having established his reputation at restaurants including Tom Aikens in Chelsea, Wild Honey and Berwick Lodge.

The changing menu sources beef and lamb less than five miles from the restaurant, whilst the vegetables are also grown nearby or foraged by the chefs. Guests can expect small plates including ham hock teen and cured salmon, followed by mains such as ‘The Bird’ pie.

A fixed price menu will be available daily from 6pm-7pm, with three courses for £25.
