If you google nose to tail eating, St. JOHN is what you’ll find, an approach that has made it a firm favourite on the London dining scene since it opened in 1995. Now the many St. JOHN fans amongst you can rejoice, as the team has announced the opening of its latest bakery at Borough Corner. The venture joins Bakery Arch in Bermondsey and of course St. JOHN’s restaurants in Smithfield and Spitalfields.

Located right next to Borough Tube Station, guests can expect all of their St. JOHN favourites, including morning pastries, sourdough breads and doughnuts that can be pre-ordered from work (or from your bed) and picked up later. Lunchtime sandwiches, including cheese and chutney and egg mayonnaise are also on offer, whilst coffee, hot chocolate and teas are served throughout the day.

There will also be a shop stocking a selection of St. JOHN wines for takeaway, and its offering 10% discount on all wines during opening week (19-25 October). It feels far too soon to mention the C word, but St. JOHN’s popular mince pies and Christmas puddings will soon be available to pre-order and purchase, too…

“We are very excited to be opening a new site, just along from the hubbub of Borough Market” says CEO and co-founder Trevor Gulliver. “We have always enjoyed being very much part of the city fabric and we hope that our bakery at Borough Corner will be no different.”
