Top Cuvée build on lockdown success to open permanent shop

Published 27 August 2020

Opening a virtual bottle shop during lockdown, Top Cuvée was a welcome success story in recent months. Brodie Meah and Max Venning’s next move will definitely have fans excited, as the pair behind the London wine bar and bistro are launching their first bricks and mortar shop. Just 100 yards away from their original site on Blackstock Road, Shop Cuvée is set to open in mid-September.

The team quickly pivoted in March in response to the closure of the restaurant, creating an online shop selling cupboard essentials and natural wine made available for delivery across London by bicycle courier. The option to have chilled bottles delivered straight to the park also proved a popular option. In response to high demand, Shop Cuvée went nationwide, alongside its monthly subscription service.

The shop will sell hundreds of natural wines, from recognisable labels to lesser known brands. Charcuterie, cured meats from Cobble Lane and a selection of cheeses from Neil’s Yard will also be available, alongside snacks from the kitchen at Top Cuvée including whipped smoked cod’s roe. Buyers can also buy pantry staples from Belazu, Brindisa and Mariscadora.

“If you told me in March that not only would Top Cuvée come back better than ever, that we would have provided thousands of natural wines to London, launched a nationwide delivery service AND that we will open a permanent shop on our beloved Blakstock Road – I’d have thought you were having me on” says Brodie. Luckily for us, no one is having him on.
