It first opened to much critical acclaim two years ago, and now Evelyn’s Table is preparing for a change of chefs as it relaunches. This time, it’s a family affair with Great British Menu Finalist 2019 Luke Selby teaming up with his two brothers Nat and Theo Selby.

The chefs have created a 5-course menu combining British produce with Japanese and French technique, with opening dishes including squid noodles with mushroom dash, marinated mackerel with plum and tarte Tatin with clotted cream. At £55 per person, this marks the first time Selby has gone it alone to cook his own menu.

“At Evelyn’s Table I hope to be able to show the ethos and essence of Japanese and French cooking”, says Luke Selby. “Now it is just me and my brothers in the kitchen, we can create a personal experience for our guests and work with small British suppliers that are specialist in what they do.”

The 10-seat chef’s counter will host two sittings a night (6pm and 8pm) when it opens on 27 October. Be sure to get there early for a pre-dinner drink at the first floor wine bar The Mulwray, run by sommelier Honey Spencer.
