The Prince Arthur E8 is seeking a talented Senior Sous Chef to join our team.
Based in Hackney, London E8, the Prince Arthur is a 74-cover neighbourhood pub, working closely with the seasons to offer a European, nose-to-tail influenced menu.
As a Senior Sous Chef in our small, dedicated kitchen, you’ll play a key leadership role — supporting the Head Chef in daily operations while also remaining hands-on with all aspects of the menu. From whole animal butchery to fresh pasta and pastry, you’ll help set the standard, guide the team, and ensure consistency and quality across the board. We have a strong focus on producing as many products in-house as possible so we’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and from scratch.
We work with some of the UK’s best suppliers, including Shrub Provisions, Fin & Flounder, Farmer Tom Jones, Belazu, Cibo, La Sovrana to name a few.
The venue is open Monday through Sunday with the kitchen operating:
Dinner only Monday–Tuesday: 6–10pm
Wednesday–Saturday Lunch & Dinner: 12–2:30pm (Saturday until 3:30pm), Dinner from 5:30–10pm
Sunday: 12–7pm
What We Are Looking For:
An ideal candidate would be a confident and organised Senior Sous Chef with strong experience in European, Spanish, Italian and bistro-style cooking. You’ll be passionate about high-quality food, calm under pressure, and comfortable leading a small team.
Experience in a similar role is preferred, as you’ll be expected to support with training, service leadership, kitchen systems, and ensuring high standards at all times. This role is perfect for someone seeking a senior kitchen position with real influence and opportunity for creative and operational input.
