Get ready to hear a lot about The Chancery Rosewood, the new 144-suite luxury hotel opening 1 September on the site of the former US embassy on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair. The £1bn hotel has revealed further details of its F&B line-up, with marquee name Carbone, Major Food Group’s NYC Italian beloved of Taylor Swift and the Kardashians, making its UK debut alongside Tobi Masa by New York three star chef Masa Takayama. Also launching: Serra, a southern Mediterranean brasserie led by Alex Povall (ex Berenjak, Murano); Eagle Bar, a rooftop bar named after the 11-metre gold sculpture perched atop the building; bar and tea salon Jacqueline; and café-deli GSQ. Some details, however, remain under wraps. The planned outpost of Richard Caring’s Le Caprice has, perhaps tellingly, not been confirmed, while the Financial Times hints at rumours of a Ruth Rogers venture. More soon.

Michael Caines will open his first ever London restaurant on 17 September. Michael Caines at The Stafford (replacing The Game Bird) will serve classics like Dover sole and beef wellington alongside Caines’ modern European tasting menu.

Zao An, formerly at the ESEA Community Centre, has a new home. The café and collective has relocated to Loom Club, a fitness, events and co-working space in Islington, where it serves coffee, tea and East and Southeast Asian dishes.
