Supervisor, Stable Wines
Stable Wines is a shop and cellar bar with food from Goodbye Horses. We believe wine should be fun, living and as close to zero-zero as possible – meaning nothing added, nothing removed. We have an extensive selection of wines available to drink-in and takeaway, as well as a concise food menu.
You will be joining a team with great passion and enthusiasm for the project. There is an abundance of wine knowledge onsite, trainings and tastings, and cost price wine. This role would be excellent for someone looking to yet further their wine knowledge.
The structure of the role will depend on candidate experience, and will be based on a 40-45 hour week over 4-5 shifts (with 2 days off in a row if preferred). The salary is £16p/h including tronc.
We are looking for a supervisor to come and join the team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years’ experience in a front of house role within a similar venue, looking to step up into their first full-time managerial role in hospitality within a year. Also expected:
• Good knowledge of natural wines
• A strong passion for delivering excellent customer service
• The ability to inspire others with their energy
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Casual, fun, yet professional approach to service
• Experience working alongside a small and busy kitchen
• Good attention to detail whilst being able to work at pace
• Remaining calm under pressure in a busy service environment
Service is all about effortlessly getting the details right, so a keen eye and a proactive management style is key to this role.
Your role will consist of, but not necessarily limited to:
• Initially running your own section on bar service with a high level of competency
• Working up to being able to run a service with a team around you
• Efficient and accurate setup of the bar area for service
• Being involved in the selection of wines to be poured by-the-glass each evening
• Accurately tracking stock and wastage to assist management in hitting gross profit targets
• Setting a strong example of other team members in front of house roles
Please tell us about yourself and why you might be the ideal person for this role.
