Exciting New Opening! | Full Time | Front of House Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic RESERVATIONS & EVENTS MANAGER for a very special new restaurant opening in Fitzrovia. With team members from all backgrounds, we share in our approach to deliver personality driven service in a relaxed and nurturing environment.

The Restaurant

Much loved Portuguese chef and restaurateur, Nuno Mendes, will open an exciting new restaurant in early 2022. The concept is inspired by the city Nuno grew up in, with a menu offering that draws on Lisbon’s rich culinary heritage, and an exclusive wine list that champions regions across Portugal. 

Located in central Fitzrovia, the restaurant is inspired by the convivial atmosphere of traditional Portuguese restaurants, evolved to celebrate the dining culture at the heart of Lisbon today. The new restaurant will launch in collaboration with respected hospitality group, MJMK, who opened the critically acclaimed KOL, with Chef Patron Santiago Lastra, in 2020.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Prior experience as Reception Manager, Events Manager, Head Receptionist or Maitre D in a busy, quality, high-volume restaurant
  • An in depth understanding of the SevenRooms reservation system and Microsoft Office
  • Experience of effectively managing reservations and walk-ins to maximise covers of the restaurant during service
  • Experience of responding to PDR enquiries, managing the PDR calendar, confirming bookings, and maximising private dining and events opportunities within the restaurant
  • Welcoming, friendly and engaging personality
  • A desire to create an incredible and intuitive dining experience for all our guests
  • A passion for food, wine and service
  • The ability to lead a small team of receptionists and hosts
  • Somebody who enjoys building a rapport with concierges, local businesses, and the wider community
  • The ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • To be able to juggle face to face, telephone and email enquiries in a polite and professional manner
  • Immaculate personal presentation
  • Strong command of the English language and excellent written skills

About MJMK

MJMK was founded in March 2013 by Jake Kasumov and Marco Mendes, operating some of London’s most exciting restaurant concepts. The group has 3 distinct divisions: Restaurants, Bars, and Events.
