About us

Fat Macy’s is an award-winning social enterprise that uses our restaurant and catering businesses to train and support Londoners living in temporary accommodation and help them move into their own homes.

Through a unique 200-hour programme, trainees build up skills, experience and confidence as they work alongside our professional chefs and front-of-house teams

In 2021 we opened our first restaurant, Ebury by Fat Macy’s, in Pimlico. We now have plans for a second restaurant in Shoreditch which we’ll be opening later this year.

Founded in 2016 as a roving supper club, we have been funded by the National Lottery, UnLtd, and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Our work has been featured in the BBC, the New Statesman, VICE and Time Out.

About The Role

As a General Manager you will run Shoreditch’s overall FOH day-to-day operations, improving efficiency and increasing profits whilst working directly with our trainees as they complete hours on the programme. You will have a direct relationship with the kitchen and the charity team.

A large part of what we do is training young people living in homeless hostels and temporary accommodation across London through our 200-hour programme. You’ll support our trainees acting as one of a team of supportive mentors as they complete their traineeship and beyond.
