Assistant Manager, ACE Pizza

We’re looking for an experienced hospitality manager to help ensure the good ship Ace Pizza runs smoothly and efficiently. The Assistant Manager will support the restaurant’s General Manager in shaping an environment that’s outstanding — how we look after our guests is key to our success, and that starts with how we look after our team.
📍 Location: Victoria Park, Hackney, London.
💰 Pay: Up to £47,000 per annum (London Living Wage base + tronc)
👩 Reports To: General Manager
⏰ Hours: 45 hours per week, flexible shifts, evening and weekends standard
📅 Start Date: 3rd February
As Assistant Manager, you’ll support the smooth and successful running of the venue on shift, with a core focus on service, while also fulfilling the duties of the General Manager in their absence. While the key responsibilities are outlined below, flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential in this dynamic role.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Front of House service team by example, in what is a restaurant floor-based role.
- Promote exceptional standards in food, drink, service and guest experience.
- Operate as Senior Duty Manager for the Front of House team, core key-holder, and responsible person in the absence of General Manager and Head Pizza Chef.
- Support on day-to-day operations, including stock control, ordering, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, licensing, and food hygiene regulations.
- Support both Front of House & Back of House teams, fostering a strong, collaborative culture.
- Ensure accurate cashing up, financial recording, and banking procedures.
- Liaise with local authorities (Hackney Council, EHO, local police).
- Oversee reservations and private hire, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction.
- Drive sales and customer engagement through events, marketing, and promotions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Passion for pizza, drinks, and delivering incredible guest experiences.
- Comfortable working with all stakeholders, from customers to suppliers and local authorities.
- Right to live and work in the UK
