Dubliner Beth O’Brien is senior sous chef at The Fat Badger in Notting Hill and is one of CODE Hospitality’s 30 under 30, Class of 2026. If anyone knows where to find a good pint of Guinness, it’s Beth. Here are her top three recommendations in London.
Angie’s Freehouse, Maida Hill, W9
“My old local, and a firm favourite. The cheapest (and tastiest) pint of Guinness I’ve ever had in London, plus it’s a great place to watch sports.”
The Shaston Arms, Soho, W1
“The Shaston Arms pours an excellent pint, and they also do a porchetta sandwich that I think about at least once a week. I recommend grabbing a pew and staying for a long lunch.”
The Plimsoll, Finsbury Park, N4
“A great pub in Finsbury Park, with an adjoining dining room serving a frequently changing menu. The Guinness is fresh (presumably due to the sheer volume of footfall on match days) and well poured. Come for the burger, stay for the pints!”
