Kyseri to close in place of new project

Published 5 November 2019

Selin Kiazim and Laura Christie will temporarily close the doors of their Kyseri site in the heart of Fitzrovia on 21 December to make way for their new concept opening early next year. A last run of bookable dates for the restaurant in its current form are now available.

Kyseri celebrates the Anatolian cuisine, reinterpreted by Selin, along with Black Sea region wines that Laura has sourced. The restaurant currently offers stylish modern versions of traditional Turkish and Cypriot cuisine.

However, with Selin now wishing to realise her passion for Turkish baking, alongside Laura’s love of wines from the same region, the forthcoming project will be more aligned with their personal interests. Currently there are no further details regarding the new restaurant, launching early 2020.

Commenting on the closure, Selin Kiazim and Laura Christie said “after a year and a half of making Fitzrovia our home for Kyseri we have taken the decision to move in a different direction. We love the location and space of Kyseri, our customers and the neighbourhood we’ve gotten to know, and so with an exciting new project up our sleeve we’re sticking to recent roots and will re-open our existing site. We’re looking forward to sharing these last few months with our customers as we say farewell to Kyseri.”

The pair are also the masterminds behind Oklava, which opened in Shoreditch at Old Street (2015).
