PAPA L’s Kitchen reopens with summer pop-up

Published 24 August 2020

Following the success of previous pop-ups, including a stint at the Hyde in Kensington, The Gojk restaurant and lounge in Kensington is next to host chef Lawrence Gomez’ PAPA L’s Kitchen.

Gomez, originally from Gambia, previously worked at The Ivy, Sexy Fish and Scott’s. Combining his experience and heritage, the chef will serve an eight-course African fusion tasting menu over the next five weekends.

Using QR codes so diners can set the pace, guests can expect dishes including honey glazed salmon supreme with Kenyan green beans and ginger, BBQ lamb cutlets and PAPA L’s grilled king tiger prawns. A vegan menu is also available, including black eye bean salsa and sweet potato croquettes.

“The concept for PAPA L’s kitchen and African fusion cuisine is to take modern British food and the classical dining experience and infuse them with high quality, fresh West African flavours to create an authentic social vibe” says Gomez. “My aim is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to bond over food again.”

Tickets cost £65, including the 8-course tasting menu and paired cocktails. To find out more or to book a ticket, visit the website here
