Robin Gill’s The Dairy relocates to Bermondsey

Published 8 September 2020

Just last month, we shared the sad news that much-loved Clapham restaurant The Dairy – and neighbouring bar Counter Culture – were permanently closing following lockdown. However in a quick turn of events, Robin Gill has now delighted fans by announcing that The Dairy will reopen south of the river in Bermondsey.

In a statement on Instagram, Gill thanked the restaurant’s many fans for the outpouring of support over recent weeks, going on to say “we’ve been very lucky to have some great friends in the industry and are very pleased to announce that we have moved to Bermondsey. We’ve got all the team back in action, so please come and see us from next Thursday!”

It’s no surprise that new site on Tower Bridge Road, close to both Maltby Street and Borough Market, will have the same produce-led offering and team as its popular Clapham predecessor.

Open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday, Gill and head chef Will Faris have created a new menu featuring dishes such as tarragon battered skate cheeks with pea cream, stuffed flatbread with pulled aubergine and skate with pine nut sauce and fennel kimchi.

“While we have moved to our new home in Bermondsey our aim remains the same which is to be the heart and soul of the neighbourhood, creating great memories, or memory lass, whatever the case may be” adds Gill. “We’re looking forward to welcoming back our regulars that have become great friends and making many more along the way.”

To celebrate its reopening, The Dairy Bermondsey will offer a complimentary welcome cocktail and 25% off food during its soft launch from September 10-20.
