Six by Nico launches first London site

Published 24 July 2020

Marking one of the first entirely new restaurant openings post lockdown, chef Nico Simeone launches his first London restaurant this week. Located on Fitzrovia’s Charlotte Street, Six by Nico serves a new six course tasting menu every six weeks.

First up is ‘The Chippie’, inspired by Simeone’s Scotish-Italian heritage. The menu is his take on the classic British fish and chip shop, with a nostalgic six course tasting menu costing £35 per person.

Guests can expect dishes including ‘fish supper’ of Shetland cod and confit fennel, steak pie with shredded speyside beef shin and burnt onion ketchup and the signature deep fried mars bar with caramelia, chocolate mouse and blood orange sorbet. Wine pairings are available for an additional £33 per person and vegetarian alternatives are also available.

The opening marks Simeone’s sixth restaurant, with sites already in Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester and Liverpool, as well as the original in his native Glasgow. The London sister restaurant will seek to replicate the ethos of making fine dining accessible and affordable.

After serving over 100,000 people during lockdown with the ‘Home by Nico’ initiative, the 76-cover restaurant will open in adherence with social distancing guidelines.

“We are very excited to finally open Six by Nico London” says Simeone. “At a time when London is starting to emerge from this horrific crisis, we are determined to be amongst the first of the new places that make this city such a great place to visit and look forward to welcoming our customers safely very soon.”
