For our restaurant The Idler near London Victoria Station we are looking for a Restaurant Manager!

We’re proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces 2026 by Great Place To Work, something that reflects the people, energy and culture we build together every day.

    The concept

Nestled in the heart of London, our location is more than just a restaurant or bar; it’s a mindset that embraces balance between work and life. Here, time slows down, but your ambitions are still welcome, because we believe life is too short to be busy without purpose.

Enjoy small plates crafted to energize you without disrupting your flow, and let our drinks guide you from midday inspiration into a leisurely evening. So come, and embrace the art of doing nothing.

Our restaurant will be a place for breakfast and all day dining. The kitchen and bar are working together very closely since there is an open kitchen bar that runs through the restaurant. The restaurant will be serving an all day food menu that consists of creative and high quality dishes to share (or not). The all day dining menu plays tribute with a playful spin on British Classics where dishes are uncomplicated, true to their ingredients and have a real punch on British produce.

Next to a restaurant and bar, the location offers three 8 pax meeting rooms and a Deli.

    The Job

We’re looking for a Restaurant Manager to take full ownership of our F&B operation and help shape the experience, energy and performance of the restaurant every single day. Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll lead the full F&B operation and play a key role in creating a restaurant that feels alive where guests feel genuinely looked after, teams feel supported and service feels natural rather than scripted. You’ll be leading from the floor, building culture, driving performance and making sure the operation runs smoothly day to day. Alongside the guest experience and team leadership side of the role, you’ll also take ownership of the financial performance of the business including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and helping drive revenue and profitability. We’re looking for someone who understands that a successful restaurant is about more than great service alone. Someone who can confidently balance people, operations and commercial performance to help the restaurant continue to grow and succeed.

    What we are looking for:

    • A highly experienced Restaurant Manager with a strong background in hotel.
    • A natural leader who knows how to inspire, develop and genuinely support their team.
    • Passionate about real hospitality and creating memorable experiences guests want to come back for.
    • Strong operational knowledge with a sharp eye for detail and high standards throughout.
    • Commercially aware with a solid understanding of driving revenue, performance and profitability.
    • Experienced in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cost control.
    • Confident in analysing performance and making decisions that positively impact both service and financial results.
    • Hands-on, energetic and comfortable leading from the floor.
    • Someone who creates an environment where both guests and teams thrive.
    • This role would suit someone excited by building something special, not just maintaining it.

    What’s in it for you?

    • In addition to a competitive salary, you are entitled to Tronc (Service Charge).
    • 30 days holiday including bank holidays.
    • Me-Time/Community Day: Enjoy a dedicated day for self-care and another day of community engagement.
    • Medical Cash Plan Scheme to support your everyday healthcare needs.
    • Free access to our hotel gym and sauna.
    • Pension scheme from day one.
    • Group Life Insurance.
    • Personal Growth: In our company we want to invest in your personal and professional growth by personalized training opportunities, to unleash your professional potential.
    • Perkbox: Benefits platform where you are able to browse hundreds of different free perks, discounts and vouchers and much more.
    • Recommend a Friend Scheme: Receive £500 for every successful hire you refer.
    • Hotel & restaurant perks: Enjoy daily closing drinks, exclusive employee rates for stays at hotels and a Friends & Family Rate, so you can share the joy with your loved ones. Besides our own locations we also offer the “Hotel Employee Rate”, where you can explore the world with discount rates for other hotels.
    • Team drinks, events & outings to (never) forget!
