Assistant General Manager, Rambutan
AGM ROLE
Rambutan in Borough Market is looking for an AGM to help lead the FOH team. Inspired by the fire cooking in Sri Lankan villages, Rambutan is centered around an open kitchen, cooking on charcoal grills, reflecting the food from Sri Lanka and from Sri Lanka’s immigrant communities in London. Less than 1 year old, we have had an amazing first year and are looking for a committed, passionate AGM to help support the GM and to fall in love with Sri Lankan food and culture. Our philosophy is about taking great care of our team, working with amazing producers, and cooking diaspora Sri Lankan food simply and seasonally. Our team have worked at Brat, Towpath, Paradise, 40 Maltby Street, Cinnamon Club, Bao and in Sri Lanka.
You will:
- Alongside GM, manage, lead and support a happy, motivated, trained front-of-house team
- Be a great example: you’re a superstar on the floor, and sets the standard for warm, informal, knowledgeable, kind, order of service, and never let anyone on the team move that standard
- A great manager and trainer: ensures mistakes get picked up on and feedback given clearly and effectively, gently and kindly
- Problem-solve issues for staff and be a great, inspiring manager
- Assume responsibility for FOH operations in the absence of the GM & assist the HC in their responsibilities
- Be a great team player
OUR HOURS
We are open 7 days a week, and this role would be 48 hours, with one admin shift a week included
