Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented head chef to run our kitchen at Nutbourne restaurant in Battersea. The head chef role will include the responsibility for development with regards to experimental menu dishes along with Oliver and the other sous chefs. The head chef will be in control of the kitchen and its day to day operation but work closely with the directors to follow their seasonal ingredient sourcing and menu concept: Local & Wild.

Responsibilities will include:
• Managing and training a team against budget
• Creating and cooking a seasonal daily changing menu
• Monitoring and achieving the budgeted food margin
• Demonstrating and presenting for the kitchen table
• Adhering and achieving 5-star food and kitchen safety
• Training and briefing front of house on dishes and seasonal changes

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be an expert in British wild food and a creative in a structured environment. The candidate should be a disciplined chef who enjoys working under pressure in a newly designed and open Kitchen, and also excel at people management. The candidate will be responsible for one of the most important departments in the business, so needs to be confident, and ready to educate and inform guests whilst they dine in the restaurant. They will be responsible for monitoring and implementing our strict no wastage policy. The candidate needs to be a team player, who leads by example and shows a real love for the ingredients and the creativity that they bring.
