Head Host, Poon's at Somerset House
As Head Host, you are the first and last impression of Poon’s. You will lead the guest arrival experience, manage reservations with precision, and ensure seamless communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams.
This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-profile Central London venue and understands the importance of detail, warmth, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the host team to deliver exceptional, welcoming service
- Oversee all reservations across platforms (e.g. OpenTable)
- Manage the seating plan to maximise covers while protecting guest experience
- Handle VIP guests, private dining enquiries, and special requests with care
- Maintain strong communication with management and kitchen regarding flow of service
- Monitor guest feedback and contribute to service improvements
- Ensure the entrance, reception desk and waiting areas are immaculate at all times
Support event services within Somerset House as required
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Head Host or Senior Host in a high-volume London restaurant
Excellent knowledge of reservation systems
Strong leadership and team management skills
Confident communicator with polished presentation
Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving ability
A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
Availability for evenings and weekends
