Louie confirms Covent Garden opening

Published 1 September 2020

We first wrote about Louie in January, for a March opening. Like many others, the restaurant’s opening got pushed back, so we’re happy to hear the team have confirmed they will be launching in mid-September.

Taking over the site of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Louie is the first London venture for Paris Society. The group, behind restaurants such as Loulou and Girafe in Paris, is collaborating with Guillaume Glipa, who has worked with restaurants including Coya and Chiltern Firehouse.

Opening for brunch at weekends, lunch, dinner and late night drinks, Louie will have 150 covers set across two floors in a former 19th century townhouse. The site will also feature an upstairs lounge with live music and bar.

The menu, by executive head chef Slade Rushing, combines French cuisine with the culinary heritage of New York and New Orleans, with signature dishes including BBQ lobster and oysters Rockefeller.

With music, design and an element of theatre integral to the restaurant, Glipa highlights that Louie is more than a dining destination: “we think of Louie as a set. Upon entering, you discover a place unlike any you’ve been before.” We look forward to finding out for ourselves…
